2026 is a significant year for Coaldale Mennonite Brethren Church as it marks 100 years since
its official beginnings on May 23,1926. As a part of our centennial celebrations, we have chosen
to partner with Canadian Peacemakers International (CPI) in starting several Computer Assisted
Learning (CAL) schools in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

CPI launched the first CAL school in the Dominican Republic in 2009. Computer Assisted
Learning is a program whereby a digitized curriculum is installed on computers. Students can
then access the curriculum to learn at their own pace. After completing the curriculum, a student
is eligible to take exams for graduation to the next grade. This program has been very effective
in the Dominican resulting in hope for individuals and communities which in turn has resulted in
a reduction of violence.

OUR GOAL: The set-up and operational costs of each school is approximately $35,000 CAD for the
first year. It is the goal of Coaldale MB Church, in conjunction with our 100th Anniversary, to raise
enough money to launch three schools ($105,000) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

At this concert, there will be a guest choir from a Congolese Church in Edmonton
performing. We invite you to come be inspired by the choir, be informed about this project,
and find out how you can be involved.
